Valeria Cañas, born and raised in Miami, Florida, began her competitive dance training at age 4 with Dance Unlimited, training in contemporary, lyrical, jazz, hip-hop, tap, acro, and ballet. In high school, she danced with the nationally-acclaimed Coral Reef High School Cudettes.
After graduating, Valeria discovered her passion for choreography. For the past six years, she has choreographed award-winning routines for the Junior Varsity Cudettes, earning multiple National Championship titles at NDTC, DTU, GHSA, and studio competitions. Her work has also received several Best Choreography Awards.
Valeria has assisted “So You Think You Can Dance” winner Ricky Ubeda and contemporary choreographer, Chad McCall. She has since created choreography for studios, high school teams, and college programs including Michigan State University, and more across the United States. She is currently entering her fourth year signed with TRIBE 99 and also judges for competitions nationwide.
Now based in Houston, Texas, Valeria continues to grow her influence as a choreographer, sharing her vision, elevating dancers, and bringing her creative concepts to life across the country.
