Sarina Simonelli is a dedicated dancer, choreographer, and performer currently pursuing her BFA in Dance at the University of Wisconsin–Madison, where she is also a member of the University of Wisconsin Dance Team. With extensive training in ballet, contemporary, jazz, lyrical, hip-hop, pom, and acro, she brings a strong technical foundation and creative vision to every performance.
Sarina’s dance journey began at a young age, including six years in a pre-professional company. In high school, she was a four-year varsity dance team member, where she contributed choreography for halftime performances and competition routines, helping her team earn conference and sectional championships multiple years. Now at the collegiate level, she competes in jazz and pom at UDA Nationals in the DIA category and serves on her team’s choreography committee. Sarina has a deep love for dance team performance and how it blends musicality, artistry, athleticism, synchronicity, and teamwork, creating a dynamic and powerful expression of movement that unites dancers in both precision and passion.
During her studio competition career, Sarina earned multiple titles and top placements for her self-choreographed solos at both regional and national competitions. Her work is known for its emotional depth, creativity, musicality, and technical excellence.
Beyond performance, Sarina is deeply committed to mentorship and dance education. She is actively involved in Athlete to Athlete Mentorship, guiding dancers aspiring to make collegiate teams through the recruitment process and ensuring they have the technical readiness to achieve their goals. Her confidence and dedication to aspiring dancers is rooted in her time as a National Prodigy for NRG Dance Project, where she traveled the country as a convention assistant working alongside renowned industry professionals, assisting in training young dancers and further developing her own artistry.
Sarina is equally committed to her own growth and education. In addition to her academic majors, she is also pursuing a Pilates teaching certification through UW Madison, allowing her to develop a deep understanding of efficient movement mechanics, functional strength, and mind–body connection. She continues to explore how this knowledge can support dancers in injury prevention, efficient technique, and overall movement quality—and loves integrating these principles into her own teaching and choreography.
This past year, Sarina has also expanded her professional experience as a choreographer with TRIBE 99, working with multiple dance teams across the country in both pom and jazz. Her time with TRIBE has further shaped her collaborative style, sharpened her choreographic voice, and deepened her passion for creating impactful, dynamic team routines.
With a profound love for movement and storytelling, Sarina continues to cultivate her choreographic identity, bringing passion, creativity, technical clarity, and innovation to every project she undertakes. Her deep connection to dance drives her to inspire the same passion in her dancers—whether energizing spectators during sideline and timeout routines or captivating adjudicators at competitions, her purpose is to create performances that resonate deeply with audiences and leave a lasting impact.
