Anna Kate Nieman has been dancing for over 20 years and specializes in hip hop, jazz, contemporary, and pom styles. She attended Arizona State and the University of Cincinnati and was a member of both nationally ranked dance teams, competing at UDA College Nationals in Division 1A jazz, pom, and hip hop categories. Throughout those years she trained with top notch instructors from across the country and developed strong contemporary, pom, and hip hop technique. She has also performed with Champion Legacy and has won numerous awards at the Dance Worlds, including two silver and one bronze medals.
Over the past 7 years, Anna Kate has shifted her focus to teaching, coaching, and choreographing for teams all over the nation. Choreography credits include North Dakota State University, New York University, Elon University (NC), University of Milwaukee (WI), Plainfield East HS (Illinois), Mason HS (OH), and Champion Legacy All Stars (SD). She assistant coached Champion Legacy to a gold medal in hip hop at the Dance Worlds in 2015 and her choreography led them to a silver finish in hip hop in 2016. In 2018, Anna Kate was an assistant choreographer for Champion Legacy’s jazz and lyrical routines. The jazz team won a USASF Dance Worlds gold medal. In addition, Anna Kate consulted their pom team that year, which also won gold.
Along with continuing her dance training, Anna Kate holds a 200-hour yoga certification. She loves using the mind-body connection to promote health and body awareness through dance and movement. In the future, Anna Kate plans to continue choreographing and teaching, while attending graduate school for occupational therapy.
