Alexis Abu is a Michigan native with over 20 years of experience creating high-impact choreography across competitive, professional, and dance team spaces. Known for her dynamic movement quality, polished visuals, and strong leadership, Alexis consistently delivers routines that elevate teams while remaining authentic to their identity.

A graduate of Alma College, Alexis holds a bachelor’s degree in Business Management, Dance, and Psychology. As a 4-year member and 2-year captain of the Alma College Dance Team, she led the program to six Collegiate National Championship titles and earned individual honors as a 2-time NDA All-American Collegiate Dancer and 2-time NDA Top Gun Hip Hop award recipient.

Alexis has taught and choreographed for hundreds of dancers nationwide through NDA, WILD Dance Intensive, TRIBE 99’s THE TOUR, and Nexstar Talent Competition National Championship master classes. Her professional performance credits include appearances with Grammy-winning artist Kierra Sheard and Pastor Mike Jr. at the Stellar Awards, collaborations with Dej Loaf, Lay Bankz, DJ Kool, and Slum Village, and a featured appearance in Adia’s music video Fly.

Currently, Alexis is an NBA dancer with the Detroit Pistons, where she has performed internationally in Mexico City and appeared on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. She previously served as captain of the USFL Michigan Panthers Cheerleaders and as a leader of the USPBL United Dance Crew, bringing elite-level professionalism and leadership into every project.

As a TRIBE 99 CHOREO-CONNECT choreographer, Alexis has created award-winning routines for high school and collegiate teams, earning state championships and top placements at the DTU College Classic, DTU High School National Championship, and NDA High School National Championship. Clients value her ability to craft visually striking choreography that maximizes team strengths, pushes performance quality, and delivers results.
